Production Operative – Assembly Technician

About the role

This temporary full‑time position is based on the shop floor in Chelmsford, supporting the assembly of a range of components. You will help meet production deadlines while maintaining the high‑quality standards expected by the client.

Key responsibilities

• Manufacture a variety of shop‑floor assemblies according to engineering specifications.
• Interpret and follow engineering drawings to ensure accurate build.
• Work with small components, handling them safely and efficiently.
• Monitor production targets and report any issues that could affect delivery.
• Maintain a clean and organised work environment in line with health and safety policies.

Required profile

• Proactive attitude with a strong focus on problem‑solving.
• Excellent communication skills for interaction at all levels.
• Very high attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and adapt to changing priorities.
• Experience in a manufacturing or technical environment is desirable but not essential.

Required skills

• Interpret engineering drawings.
• Assemble small components.

What we offer

• Full‑time temporary contract with the possibility of permanent placement.
• Shift pattern: 8:00‑16:30 Mon‑Thu, 8:00‑15:30 Fri.
• Hourly rate between £12.74 and £13.06.
