Production Operator – Assembly Team

About the role

We are seeking a Production Operator to join the assembly team of a leading manufacturing client in Peterlee. The role involves assembling electronic components and sub‑assemblies, following detailed work instructions and maintaining high quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Assemble electronic components, sub‑assemblies and finished products according to drawings, work instructions and bills of materials.
• Perform hand soldering and operate soldering equipment as required.
• Use hand tools, assembly fixtures and production equipment safely.
• Carry out visual inspections and basic functional testing, reporting any defects or process issues.
• Record production, quality and test data accurately.
• Maintain ESD controls and keep the workstation clean.
• Meet production targets while complying with health, safety and company procedures.

Required profile

• Previous experience in an assembly or manufacturing environment.
• Good manual dexterity and hand‑eye coordination.
• Ability to read and follow technical drawings and instructions with high accuracy.
• Strong attention to detail and quality awareness.
• Effective communication and teamwork skills.
• Reliability, punctuality and safety awareness.
• GCSEs (or equivalent) including Maths and English.

• Electrostatic discharge (ESD) control.
