Production Planner

About the role

Beagle Aircraft, a leading aerospace manufacturer, is expanding its Operations team in Christchurch. The Production Planner will coordinate material supply and production schedules to meet customer demand while supporting lean manufacturing and continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain production schedules aligned with customer and business requirements.
• Plan material availability and work with Procurement to secure timely supplies.
• Optimise production capacity and maintain lean inventory levels.
• Monitor progress, adjust schedules for changing priorities, and support engineering material substitutions.
• Maintain accurate planning data, Bills of Materials and inventory information in the ERP/MRP system.
• Analyse inventory, scrap, yield and planning performance to identify improvement opportunities.
• Collaborate with Production, Procurement, Engineering and Stores to ensure smooth material flow.

Required profile

• Analytical, highly organised and comfortable in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment.
• Previous experience as a Production, Materials or Supply Chain Planner in engineering or manufacturing.
• Experience in aerospace, defence or precision engineering is a plus.
• Strong communication skills and ability to build relationships across departments.

Required skills

• Syspro ERP/MRP system experience.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel proficiency.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
