Production Planner – Manufacturing

About the role

Based in Clacton-on-Sea, you will join a well‑known manufacturing business that designs and builds precision engineering parts. Working closely with the Production Manager and cross‑functional teams, you will translate customer demand into realistic production schedules and help ensure on‑time delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Create, maintain and communicate production schedules aligned with orders, forecasts and capacity.
• Coordinate workflow across production, purchasing, engineering, quality and sales to manage priorities.
• Monitor material availability, work‑in‑progress and finished‑goods levels.
• Liaise with procurement and stores to secure required materials.
• Use ERP/MRP systems to release work orders, manage demand and update planning data.
• Collaborate with internal teams to resolve planning challenges and support continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Proven experience in production planning, coordination or manufacturing scheduling.
• Good understanding of manufacturing operations, capacity planning and material requirements.
• Strong organisational and prioritisation abilities with a proactive, hands‑on approach.
• Experience producing KPI or performance reports is advantageous.
