Production Planner – Manufacturing & Packaging

About the role

We are seeking a Production Planner to join a fast‑moving manufacturer that supplies critical packaging to global markets. Based on site in Milton Keynes, you will translate customer orders into production plans, keep material flow smooth across multiple lines, and ensure on‑time delivery remains a guarantee.

Key responsibilities

• Run daily production schedules for dry assembly and wet‑machine lines.
• Convert incoming sales orders into executable plans using MRP.
• Monitor material availability and coordinate with Procurement to avoid shortages.
• Manage capacity across labour, machinery and lines, flagging constraints early.
• Track machine OEE and on‑time delivery performance, producing monthly KPI reports.
• Prepare capacity data for the monthly SIOP review and present to the Planning Manager.
• Collaborate daily with Customer Service, Sales, Purchasing and Transport, communicating schedule changes promptly.
• Maintain accurate planning data in SAP (ERP/MRP).
• Participate in the 8:30 am daily operations meeting.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years of production planning or supply‑chain planning experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience in fast‑paced settings with multiple simultaneous production lines (e.g., FMCG, food, aerospace, packaging, industrial assembly).
• Proven ability to stay in control of schedules under pressure and adapt quickly to changes.

Required skills

• SAP (ERP/MRP) proficiency.
• Strong MRP competency.
