Production Supervisor – Night Shift

About the role

We are seeking a hands‑on Production Supervisor to lead a night‑shift team in a busy manufacturing environment. This permanent role is highly visible on the shop floor and focuses on maintaining operational standards, health & safety, and product quality across multiple production units.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage day‑to‑day operations on the assigned night‑shift (18:00‑06:00, Monday‑Thursday).
• Maintain strict health & safety standards, including PPE compliance.
• Monitor output quality and ensure product specifications are consistently met.
• Allocate labour and balance workloads across production units.
• Follow production schedules set by the Factory Manager and ensure timely delivery.
• Conduct inductions, site tours, manage absences and return‑to‑work processes.
• Use the HR system to record attendance and sickness.
• Address performance and behavioural issues fairly and professionally.
• Escalate critical issues and hold difficult conversations when required.

Required profile

• Proven experience supervising in a manufacturing or production setting.
• Confidence working independently, especially on night shifts.
• Strong leadership presence with a “firm but fair” management style.
• Willingness to be highly hands‑on and physically present on the shop floor.
• Ability to manage competing priorities and keep production running smoothly.
• Excellent communication and people‑management skills.

• Competitive salary £50,000‑£54,000 per annum.
