Production Team Leader

About the role

This position is for an experienced Production Team Leader to join a well‑established manufacturing business in Dunkeswell, near Honiton, Devon. You will be responsible for guiding a shift of operatives, ensuring production targets are met while maintaining quality and safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, motivate and support a team of production operatives to achieve daily output goals.
• Organise workloads and ensure production plans are delivered efficiently.
• Monitor processes to maximise productivity and minimise downtime.
• Verify that products meet customer specifications, quality standards and manufacturing requirements.
• Accurately complete production records and use computer‑based systems for reporting.
• Promote a strong Health & Safety culture throughout the shift.
• Support training, development and performance management of team members.
• Identify continuous‑improvement opportunities to increase efficiency and reduce waste.

Required profile

• Previous experience in a production leadership role such as Team Leader, Supervisor, Shift Leader or Senior Operator.
• Background in manufacturing, FMCG or food production is preferred.
• Strong people‑management and decision‑making abilities in a fast‑paced environment.
• Good communication skills and ability to work collaboratively across departments.
• Understanding of Health & Safety, quality standards and production processes.
• Own transport is essential due to the remote location.

• £15.68 per hour (£23.52 per hour overtime after 38 hours).
• Monday‑Friday, 6 am‑4 pm shift with one rotating weekday off.
