Production Technologist

About the role

Our client, a leading North Sea operator, is seeking a Production Technologist to join the multidisciplinary surveillance team at its Aberdeen base. The role is a PAYE contractor position focused on managing the health and performance of platform and subsea wells across the operated late‑life asset portfolio.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and optimise well performance using the PETEX suite of tools, ensuring maximum hydrocarbon recovery.
• Identify, plan and deliver value‑adding well intervention and hydrocarbon maturation projects, managing associated technical and non‑technical risks.
• Assess well integrity test results against company standards, raise failures, and lead remediation programmes for tree and in‑well issues.
• Optimise gas‑lift systems for both platform and subsea fields and oversee the end‑to‑end sand‑control strategy.
• Ensure compliance with company design, engineering, HSE standards and policies.

Required profile

• University degree in Petroleum Engineering or a related discipline.
• Significant experience in well integrity, inflow/outflow modelling and well performance analysis.
• Proven track record of delivering well‑intervention activities and sand‑management projects.
• Ability to work autonomously within a multi‑disciplinary team.
