Professional Standards & Licensing Manager

About the role

WE Talent is recruiting a Professional Standards & Licensing Manager for a respected regulatory organisation. This senior, hands‑on role blends strategic thinking with day‑to‑day operational leadership, driving improvements in professional standards, licensing processes and stakeholder engagement.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, coach and develop a small team responsible for standards, licensing and compliance.
• Oversee and sign off complex casework, ensuring consistent application of regulatory requirements.
• Deputise for senior leadership, representing the department internally and externally.
• Identify and develop initiatives to strengthen education, licensing and professional standards.
• Own projects from concept through implementation, creating structure and momentum.
• Collaborate with education providers, employers and sector bodies to expand participation and visibility.

Required profile

• Proven experience in regulatory, standards or licensing environments.
• Strong leadership and people‑management capabilities.
• Ability to translate strategic ideas into practical solutions.
• Excellent stakeholder‑engagement and communication skills.
