Programme Manager

About the role

As a Programme Manager you will lead large, strategically significant projects across multiple teams, developing digital customer‑facing applications, internal business systems and governance, risk and compliance programmes. You will coordinate cross‑functional teams, manage resources and ensure initiatives align with Springer Nature’s organisational objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Start, shape, lead and deliver technology programmes and projects within agreed time, budget and quality constraints.
• Define, document and track programme objectives, scope, success criteria and deliverables.
• Identify, assess and manage risks and issues, implementing mitigation strategies as needed.
• Allocate resources effectively, monitor utilisation and address capacity challenges.
• Work with product vendors, implementation partners and internal technology teams to ensure robust specifications and solutions.
• Conduct RFI/RFP processes to select appropriate third‑party solutions.
• Develop and maintain global stakeholder relationships, acting as the primary point of contact and providing regular progress updates.
• Support change management, develop communication plans and drive process‑improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Extensive experience leading and delivering technology and change projects in a global, multi‑methodology environment.
• Proven ability to manage multiple concurrent, inter‑connected projects and create appropriate project artefacts.
• Strong analytical, reporting and stakeholder‑management skills, with the capability to communicate technical concepts to non‑technical audiences.
• Experience facilitating collaboration among developers, UX designers, business analysts, QA and other project team members.
• Knowledge of organisational change management techniques and excellent written and oral communication skills in English.
