Programme Manager – Nuclear Micro‑reactor Projects

About the role

Cambridge Atomworks is developing the ODIN nuclear micro‑reactor and seeks a Programme Manager to lead the planning, coordination and delivery of multi‑year, cross‑disciplinary programmes. You will work closely with engineering, physics, regulatory and business development teams to ensure milestones are met and the company’s strategic objectives are achieved.

Key responsibilities

• Own end‑to‑end programme planning, execution and governance across all workstreams.
• Communicate clear milestones, dependencies and required activities to internal teams and external partners.
• Identify, assess and manage programme risks and critical‑path items.
• Manage programme budgets, monitor expenditure and report financial performance.
• Coordinate contracted work with suppliers, ensuring quality, timeliness and alignment with objectives.
• Lead preparation, submission and management of bids, grant applications and funding proposals.
• Provide regular progress updates and maintain transparent reporting for senior leadership.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of experience in programme or project management delivering complex, multi‑disciplinary programmes.
• Strong understanding of programme management methodologies and ability to apply them in an engineering context.
• Proven track record of managing budgets, schedules, risks and cross‑functional teams.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to simplify complex information.
• Analytical, problem‑solving and decision‑making capabilities.
