Programme Systems Engineering Manager

About the role

This position offers the chance to lead engineering delivery for high‑profile defence and cyber‑security programmes. You will work closely with programme managers and technical specialists to ensure projects meet schedule, budget and quality expectations.

Key responsibilities

• Lead engineering delivery of complex programmes and multiple projects.
• Support programme planning, scheduling and identify delivery improvements.
• Manage engineering resources and coordinate staffing with discipline leads.
• Deliver outputs within agreed budgets, schedules and quality standards.
• Identify, assess and mitigate technical risks throughout the lifecycle.
• Oversee engineering budgets, forecasts and cost performance.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary teams across systems, software, hardware and integration.
• Represent engineering to customers, suppliers and subcontractors.
• Drive continuous improvement, innovation and cost‑effective solutions.
• Ensure compliance with security requirements and engineering governance.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Systems Engineering professional in defence, aerospace or other highly regulated sectors.
• Degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Physics or equivalent industry experience.
• Significant experience across the full Systems Engineering lifecycle.
• Strong understanding of systems engineering principles and practices.
