Progress Coach – Student Support (Bath)

About the role

The Progress Coach supports students at the Bath International Study Centre, both online and face‑to‑face, helping them achieve academic success and personal development. You will work in a collaborative environment that values autonomy, innovation, and continuous learning.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver regular "prepare to progress" sessions to tutor groups and provide academic counselling.
• Coach students on alternative degree options and liaise with the Extended Progression Support team.
• Monitor student grades, attendance and completion of mandatory non‑academic modules on the VLE.
• Identify performance issues, coordinate with academic staff and implement appropriate interventions.
• Collaborate with tutors to source resources that support student achievement.
• Work with the welfare team to safeguard student well‑being, including processes for under‑18s.
• Track and record attendance, ensuring timely interventions in line with the Attendance Policy.
• Organise and facilitate progression and engagement activities with Heads of Department.
• Participate in marketing and agent visits, delivering presentations and contributing to promotional material.
• Refer students at risk of breaching visa compliance to the visa team.

Required profile

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Excellent administrative ability and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Experience supporting students in an academic environment, preferably within higher education.
• Understanding of student welfare considerations, including for under‑18s.

Required skills

• Proficiency with internal student records systems.
• Familiarity with a Virtual Learning Environment (VLE).
