Project Accountant – Oxford

About the role

Airbus Helicopters UK (AHUK) is seeking a Project Accountant to join its finance team at the Oxford site. You will work closely with senior management to ensure the financial integrity of helicopter projects and support the delivery of contract proposals and operational plans.

Key responsibilities

• Liaise with the Senior Management Team to validate financial data before offers are sent to customers.
• Develop work breakdown structures and project schedules for future contract proposals.
• Assist in the preparation and update of operating plans, forecasts and annual budgets, reporting any deviations.
• Maintain accurate finance data, allocate costs correctly and keep hour bookings up‑to‑date across programmes.
• Prepare group contract reviews and monthly “Estimate at Completion” (EAC) updates, ensuring labour and subcontractor costs are booked accurately.
• Support month‑end closing, applying correct accounting treatments and providing finance input for statutory audits.
• Lead the SSRO audit from a finance perspective and complete annual SSRO supplier report submissions.
• Act as the focal point for finance queries related to spares, training and other programme activities.

Required profile

• Experience in project accounting or finance within an engineering or aerospace environment.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret budgets, forecasts and cost structures.
• Attention to detail and ability to ensure data accuracy across large programmes.
• Good communication skills for interacting with senior managers and external auditors.
