Project Assurance Officer (SC Cleared) – Contract

About the role

A Government organisation is seeking an SC‑cleared Project Assurance Officer to provide independent assurance across a major transformation programme. Working within the PMO, you will help ensure projects meet governance standards, delivery frameworks and risk objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct project assurance reviews, health checks and stage‑gate assessments for multiple projects.
• Maintain assurance logs, RAID registers and action trackers.
• Produce assurance reports, dashboards, KPIs and management information for senior stakeholders.
• Support internal and external audits, assurance reviews and governance forums.
• Challenge project teams to improve controls, governance and best‑practice adherence.
• Drive continuous improvement of assurance processes and PMO standards.

Required profile

• Proven experience in Project Assurance, PMO Assurance, Portfolio Assurance or Project Controls.
• Strong understanding of project governance, lifecycle controls and assurance methodologies.
• Excellent analytical ability and confidence to challenge constructively.
• Effective stakeholder management and communication skills.

Required skills

• Advanced Microsoft Office proficiency (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).

• Contract rate of £325 per day (rate range £250‑£325).
