Project Controls Engineer – Planning (Defence)

About the role

We are seeking a Project Controls Engineer – Planner to join our growing defence team in Bristol. You will work on high‑profile infrastructure programmes, developing and maintaining schedules that drive successful delivery against key milestones.

Key responsibilities

• Create and maintain project schedules aligned with requirements and objectives.
• Develop and update project programmes in collaboration with project managers and wider teams.
• Work closely with stakeholders to define scope, detailed schedules and performance reporting.
• Monitor progress, identify variances and highlight potential risks.
• Analyse critical paths, dependencies and constraints, and propose recovery plans.
• Support change‑management processes and schedule updates.
• Produce planning and performance reports to aid decision‑making.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of planning and project‑controls processes.

Required profile

• Degree qualified in a relevant discipline or equivalent experience in project controls.
• Proven experience in project or programme management environments, preferably within the defence sector.
• Strong understanding of project‑controls principles and methodologies.
• Ability to work collaboratively with project teams and stakeholders.
• Excellent analytical, problem‑solving and communication skills.
