Project Design Manager

About the role

Join Trant Engineering as a Project Design Manager based in Southampton, supporting design teams across water and wastewater projects valued £1M‑£10M.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate design resources and ensure delivery against fee estimates and programmes.
• Lead formal design and safety reviews, ensuring compliance with health, safety, environmental best practices and client specifications.
• Manage design interfaces with third‑party designers, subcontractors and suppliers.
• Maintain relationships with client project teams and oversee design change processes.

Required profile

• Engineering background in the water industry with experience leading multi‑discipline teams.
• Ability to manage multiple projects in a dynamic environment and travel to remote sites as needed.
• Chartered membership of a relevant professional institution is desirable.

Required skills

• Proficiency with BIM/Digital Delivery processes.
• Competent use of the Microsoft Office suite.
