Project Engineer – Cloud & Managed Services

About the role

This Project Engineer position is with a specialist cloud and managed services provider serving accountancy firms. You will move beyond routine ticket handling to design, build, migrate and improve hosted IT environments.

Key responsibilities

• Build and prepare customer environments on Windows Server, Active Directory, Microsoft 365 and hosted desktop platforms.
• Support onboarding and migration projects, moving users, data, applications and profiles.
• Work with Citrix, Microsoft RDS, VMware, Hyper‑V, firewalls and VPN solutions.
• Deliver infrastructure refreshes, OS upgrades and service improvements.
• Produce clear project notes, handover documentation and maintain technical records.
• Improve repeatable checklists, templates and processes.

Required profile

• Hands‑on experience with Windows Server, Active Directory and Group Policy.
• Proficiency in Microsoft 365 administration.
• Solid understanding of networking fundamentals, firewalls and VPNs.
• Customer‑facing technical support or infrastructure delivery background.
• Ability to produce clear documentation and handover notes.
