Project Engineer

About the role

We are looking for an experienced and technically strong Project Engineer to join our high‑performing team in London. This senior‑level position will own complex engineering projects from inception through delivery, coordinating multiple workstreams and engaging with stakeholders at all levels.

Key responsibilities

• Lead end‑to‑end delivery of engineering projects, managing scope, schedule, budget and quality.
• Develop detailed project plans, resource schedules and risk registers, keeping documentation up to date.
• Act as the primary technical point of contact for clients, contractors and internal teams.
• Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers and specialist consultants to meet agreed standards and timescales.
• Identify, assess and mitigate project risks and issues, escalating when necessary.
• Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, standards and health & safety requirements.
• Conduct site visits and technical reviews, providing engineering oversight and quality assurance.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and share lessons learned.
• Support business development activities such as tender preparation and client presentations.

Required profile

• Significant experience as a Project Engineer or in a comparable senior engineering role, with a proven track record of delivering complex projects on time and within budget.
• A relevant engineering degree or equivalent qualification; Chartered Engineer status or progress towards it is advantageous.
• Strong technical knowledge across one or more engineering disciplines, enabling credible engagement with specialist contractors and consultants.
• Excellent project management skills and experience using project management tools and methodologies.
