Project Engineer

About the role

Project Engineer – a classic project engineering role with a well‑established British manufacturer of bespoke packaging machinery and turnkey lines serving the food, chemical and pharmaceutical markets. The business has doubled its turnover in the last year and continues to grow both in the UK and worldwide. It offers a supportive environment where senior staff are staying on to ensure a smooth handover.

Key responsibilities

• Take projects from order through to installation, managing all phases of delivery.
• Liaise with clients and internal sales, design, manufacturing and service teams.
• Ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.
• Work with the retiring incumbent to receive training and complete a thorough handover.

Required profile

• Proven track record as a Project Engineer in a manufacturing, industrial or engineering company that supplies capital equipment.
• Qualified engineer with relevant project‑management or engineering qualifications.
• Strong communication skills and comfortable liaising with clients.
• Experience in packaging machinery or the food, chemical and pharmaceutical sectors is advantageous but not essential.
