Project Engineer – Manufacturing & Installation

About the role

We are seeking a Project Engineer to join a well‑established British manufacturer of bespoke packaging machinery and turnkey lines serving the food, chemical and pharmaceutical markets. The role is based in our Bedford factory and offers the chance to manage projects from order through to installation.

Key responsibilities

• Take ownership of projects from order receipt to on‑site installation, ensuring delivery on time and within budget.
• Liaise with clients and internal sales, design, manufacturing and service teams to coordinate project activities.
• Work closely with the retiring incumbent during a thorough handover and training period.
• Maintain project documentation and provide regular progress updates to stakeholders.

Required profile

• Proven track record as a Project Engineer in a manufacturing, industrial or engineering environment delivering capital equipment.
• Qualified engineer with relevant project management or engineering qualifications.
• Strong communication skills and comfortable liaising with clients.
• Experience in packaging machinery or the food, chemical and pharmaceutical sectors is advantageous but not essential.
