Project Engineer – NPI & Tooling (Automotive)

About the role

We are looking for a Project Engineer to lead new product introduction (NPI) and tooling projects across our West Midlands manufacturing site and support our Eastern European facility. You will work on precision components for automotive, medical and industrial markets, driving projects from concept through to delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Lead 4‑5 simultaneous NPI projects, developing project plans, gateways and APQP deliverables.
• Manage tooling projects, including new and customer‑owned tooling, with budgets ranging £200k‑£2m.
• Drive PPAP and ISIR submissions and ensure Right First Time, OTIF and budget compliance.
• Coordinate with customers, suppliers, toolmakers and subcontractors in the UK and EMEA.
• Support in‑house manufacturing and help establish robust project KPIs.

Required profile

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
• Proven experience managing NPI and tooling projects in an automotive or precision‑manufacturing environment.
• Strong commercial awareness and resilience in a fast‑paced setting.
• Ability to work independently and influence cross‑functional teams.

• Salary up to £55,000 per year, dependent on experience
