Project Engineer – Robotic Case Packing

About the role

This hands‑on Project Engineer position is focused on delivering a live robotic case‑packing project at the machine supplier’s premises in Havant. You will lead the engineering effort from planning through testing and final sign‑off, ensuring the solution meets customer expectations.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and execute the robotic case‑packing project on‑site, acting as the primary customer liaison.
• Coordinate Mechanical, Electrical and PLC design teams, maintaining clear schedules and early identification of slippage.
• Respond to technical queries, drive issue resolution and agree remedial actions within three days.
• Obtain quotations, place orders, track sub‑supplier manufacturing, and control parts receipt, segregation and storage.
• Develop and maintain detailed project plans covering timelines, budgets and resource allocation.
• Lead bi‑weekly status meetings, report progress, and oversee FAT and SAT testing, sign‑off and documentation.

Required profile

• Proven Project Engineering experience in machine manufacturing or a related industrial environment.
• Strong planning and coordination abilities with a track record of managing multiple workstreams.
• Comfortable working with Mechanical, Electrical and PLC design teams and translating technical discussions into actionable plans.
• Experience supporting FAT and SAT testing, including preparation of clear documentation.
• Excellent communication skills, proactive escalation and a quality‑focused mindset.
