Project Engineer – Technical Documentation & Support

About the role

We are seeking a proactive Project Engineer to support the delivery of complex engineering programmes within the defence and advanced manufacturing sectors. Based onsite in Milton Keynes, you will work closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure that all technical documentation and compliance artefacts are accurate, complete, and delivered on schedule.

Key responsibilities

• Produce, maintain and control project lifecycle documentation, including technical reports, plans, schedules and customer deliverables.
• Interpret customer requirements, specifications and Statements of Work, translating them into clear documentation packages.
• Support engineering teams with design documentation, verification records and configuration‑controlled information.
• Manage document registers, submit documentation through customer portals and prepare milestone packages for project reviews.
• Assist with change management, impact assessments and bid preparation as required.

Required profile

• Strong attention to detail and ability to work across multiple engineering disciplines.
• Excellent written communication skills for technical authoring and compliance reporting.
• Experience or interest in regulated environments such as defence or aerospace.
• Ability to collaborate with Project Management, Mechanical, Electrical, Software, Production, QA and Commercial teams.
