Project Lead – Fire Planned Investment

About the role

This contract position supports a Manchester‑based housing association in delivering fire safety and capital investment projects across its portfolio. The Project Lead will oversee schemes from design through to handover, ensuring compliance, quality and customer satisfaction.

Key responsibilities

• Manage delivery of fire remedial and capital investment projects across the housing stock.
• Oversee design, procurement, construction and handover phases.
• Monitor contractor performance, quality standards, programme delivery and customer outcomes.
• Provide technical advice on building and construction matters.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety legislation and safe systems of work.
• Track project costs, timescales and performance metrics.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders, consultants and partner organisations.
• Conduct site inspections and quality assurance checks.
• Support the Investment Team in maintaining a safe, compliant housing portfolio.

Required profile

• Recent experience delivering capital works projects within social housing or similar environments.
• Proven track record managing fire safety and compliance projects to statutory standards.
• Experience overseeing planned maintenance programmes and improving housing stock.
• Strong knowledge of property maintenance, asset management and building safety requirements.
• Ability to work 37 hours per week, Monday‑Friday, 8 am‑4 pm.
