Project Manager - Application Modernisation

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead a high‑profile government transformation programme focused on legacy application modernisation and cloud migration. You will oversee end‑to‑end delivery of application upgrade and migration projects, ensuring successful transition from on‑premise environments to Azure or AWS cloud platforms.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, execute and monitor application modernisation and cloud migration projects.
• Coordinate with internal stakeholders, third‑party suppliers and government bodies.
• Review and manage Statements of Work (SoW) and contractual deliverables.
• Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget and to quality standards.
• Provide regular status reporting and risk mitigation.

Required profile

• Strong project management experience in IT/software delivery.
• Proven track record delivering application modernisation and migration projects.
• Understanding of Azure and/or AWS cloud environments.
• Excellent stakeholder and supplier management skills.
• Experience working in multi‑supplier environments.
• Previous public sector experience, ideally within Central Government.
