Project Manager – Capital Delivery (£50k‑£60k)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead the delivery of critical infrastructure and capital projects for a major asset owner. The role covers the full project lifecycle, from concept and feasibility through design, procurement, construction, commissioning and hand‑over, ensuring safety, governance and commercial performance.

Key responsibilities

• Manage capital projects from inception to completion, overseeing scope, cost, schedule and risk.
• Lead project planning, delivery and governance activities, coordinating designers, contractors and operational stakeholders.
• Own project budgets, forecasting, cost control and commercial performance.
• Manage consultants, contractors and framework partners, ensuring compliance with NEC contracts.
• Identify and manage programme risks and opportunities, driving decisions in complex environments.
• Ensure regulatory, health & safety and quality standards are met throughout the project.
• Coordinate commissioning, hand‑over and close‑out activities.
• Build trusted relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

Required profile

• Proven experience delivering infrastructure, utilities, civil engineering or major construction projects.
• Strong pre‑construction knowledge, including optioneering, design development, risk management and procurement strategy.
• Experience administering NEC contracts and managing commercial performance.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and client‑management skills.
• Ability to challenge constructively and drive decisions in complex environments.
• Resilient, tenacious individual who can maintain momentum and overcome obstacles.
• Background in contractor, consultancy or client organisations delivering capital programmes.
