Project Manager – Defence Engineering (Hybrid)

About the role

We are recruiting Project Managers for a range of opportunities within a complex defence engineering environment. The roles involve both core project delivery and client‑facing activity, offering options focused on complex programmes or on bids, estimating and business‑winning work.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver complex programmes across cost, schedule and risk.
• Manage client‑facing activities such as bids, estimating and business‑winning.
• Apply Earned Value Management (EVM) to monitor performance.
• Oversee schedule management and mitigate schedule risk.
• Control budget and cost management.
• Lead bid, proposal or tender management processes.
• Develop estimates and business cases.
• Coordinate multi‑functional teams.
• Maintain stakeholder relationships across large groups.
• Take ownership in environments with specialist responsibilities across a wider team.

Required profile

• British national (essential).
• Ability to obtain or maintain UK SC clearance.
• Previous project or programme management experience.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Experience working within complex projects, programmes or organisations.
• Background in engineering, product development or other technically complex environments.
• Defence, aerospace, MOD or regulated sector experience (useful but not essential).
• Strong transferable project management experience from other complex environments.
