Project Manager – Emergency Services Network (ESN)

About the role

BT/EE is leading the rollout of the Emergency Services Network (ESN) to replace Airwave. The Project Manager will focus on the Mission Critical Push‑To‑Talk (MCPTx) services, ensuring the application server integrates with the network core and delivering field trials across mobile and user services.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and execute end‑to‑end projects, securing resources and adhering to PMO standards.
• Lead and coordinate Ran field trials, collaborating with mobile services, user services and authority stakeholders.
• Communicate project status and changes to senior stakeholders up to Director level.
• Manage CAPEX and OPEX budgets, ensuring delivery within financial targets.
• Negotiate with partners to resolve conflicts and shape project outcomes.

Required profile

• Proven experience delivering medium to large telecom projects (up to £5 m) within a gated governance framework.
• Strong stakeholder communication and negotiation skills, comfortable interacting with senior leadership.
• Ability to organise tasks and timelines using MS Project.
• Hold a recognised project management qualification such as PRINCE2.
• Eligibility for National Security Vetting (SC or NPPV).
