Project Manager – Engineering & Construction

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Project Manager to lead a technically complex, highly regulated programme in the engineering and construction sector. The role is based in Somerset or Bristol with a hybrid working pattern, offering the chance to manage large‑scale projects that impact critical infrastructure.

Key responsibilities

• Drive delivery of contracts or packages, ensuring safety, quality, schedule and budget compliance.
• Monitor progress against milestones, budgets and report to stakeholders.
• Oversee Tier 1 and broader supply chain to maintain nuclear safety standards and quality during manufacturing.
• Implement and manage change control processes, including scope justification and governance approvals.
• Prepare and maintain project schedules aligned with programme timelines, applying Earned Value Management (EVM) principles.
• Proactively manage risks, resolve issues and facilitate solutions to sustain performance.
• Administer contracts and coordinate with commercial teams on variations, claims and contractual matters.
• Ensure effective communication and stakeholder engagement throughout all project phases.

Required profile

• Proven track record delivering projects in technically complex, highly regulated environments (ideally nuclear energy or similar).
• Strong stakeholder engagement experience across multiple groups.
• Demonstrated project, financial and change management capabilities.
• Experience managing contractors, consultants and advisors on large projects using NEC or FIDIC contracts.
