Project Manager – Generator & Power Generation Projects

About the role

We are seeking a Project Manager to lead generator and power‑generation projects for a fast‑growing hire and service business based in the Wirral, Merseyside. The role will oversee the full project lifecycle from contract award through installation, commissioning and handover, working closely with clients, engineering teams, suppliers and contractors across the UK and Europe.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, schedule and coordinate all project activities, ensuring delivery on time, within budget and to quality standards.
• Manage project budgets, resources and risk registers, providing regular progress reports to stakeholders.
• Act as the primary liaison between clients, internal engineering, suppliers and installation contractors.
• Oversee installation and commissioning phases, ensuring compliance with health, safety and technical specifications.
• Travel to project sites in the UK and Europe as required, with expenses covered.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing complex industrial or construction projects.
• Strong organisational, analytical and decision‑making abilities.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
• Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously in a fast‑paced environment.

Required skills

• Project management software such as MS Project or Primavera.
• Knowledge of power generation, generator systems or electrical distribution (advantageous).
