Project Manager – Health, Housing & Energy

About the role

Our Project Managers are fundamental to the successful leadership and delivery of NEF's programmes and projects. You will oversee one or more projects, leading a team to deliver excellent results for funders, customers and key stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Lead project delivery, managing a team of internal staff and external contractors, and reporting on KPIs.
• Accountable for delivering projects on time and within budget, recording costs, resources and income.
• Maintain accurate financial records, process invoices and ensure budget compliance.
• Provide inspirational leadership, set clear objectives, conduct regular reviews and support personal development.
• Champion NEF Quality Management Systems and embed good operating practice across the team.
• Represent NEF at external events, steering groups and stakeholder meetings, and contribute to business development.

Required profile

• Professional, non‑judgmental approach to working with customers and stakeholders.
• Excellent verbal and written communication, with experience presenting at events and writing reports.
• Strong understanding of project management in the energy sector and knowledge of at least two areas such as energy saving, energy efficiency, fuel poverty or renewable energy.
• Proven ability to lead, inspire and support internal staff and external contractors.
• High emotional intelligence, highly organised with a keen eye for detail, and willingness to travel regularly.
