Project Manager – Infrastructure (Defence)

About the role

Amentum is seeking experienced Project Managers to lead infrastructure and built‑environment projects for the UK Ministry of Defence. The role involves planning, coordinating and executing critical defence infrastructure initiatives across the North of England.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the delivery of complex, security‑sensitive infrastructure programmes.
• Coordinate with government and industry stakeholders to ensure compliance with defence governance and assurance standards.
• Develop and maintain project plans, schedules and budgets, monitoring progress against milestones.
• Provide on‑site leadership at client locations, primarily in Manchester, Cumbria, the North East and surrounding areas.
• Support risk management, reporting and continuous improvement throughout the project lifecycle.

Required profile

• Proven track record delivering infrastructure or built‑environment projects within the defence sector.
• Experience working in highly regulated environments with a solid understanding of defence estate governance.
• Strong stakeholder‑engagement skills across government and industry.
• Willingness to travel frequently to client sites in the North of England.
