Project Manager

About the role

DFTO is building a dynamic delivery pool to lead and support projects across rail transformation, HR, finance, digital, continuous improvement, operations and procurement. As a Project Manager you will shape and deliver a diverse portfolio that contributes to strategic objectives such as reducing net subsidy, improving customer services, and prioritising safety and sustainability.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the safe delivery of projects, ensuring cost, time and quality targets are met.
• Plan, structure and sequence tasks appropriate to project complexity.
• Provide a consistent project‑management service, including monitoring, reporting and compliance with DFTO standards.
• Facilitate programme cadence, prepare detailed meeting packs and reports for leadership and monthly team sessions.
• Manage risk through stakeholder engagement and mitigation planning.
• Collaborate with business analysts and subject‑matter experts to gather detailed requirements and support analysis.
