Project Manager - MOD / MOJ Projects

About the role

This position leads the delivery of complex public‑sector schemes across the South Coast, focusing on MOD, MOJ and secure‑environment projects. You will own the end‑to‑end project lifecycle, ensuring safety, schedule and quality while working closely with clients, consultants and supply‑chain partners.

Key responsibilities

• Lead day‑to‑day delivery of projects from early stages to completion.
• Manage site teams, ensuring adherence to programme and quality standards.
• Coordinate subcontractors, consultants and supply‑chain partners.
• Oversee health & safety, quality, environmental compliance on site.
• Monitor progress, identify and mitigate risks to schedule or budget.
• Work with commercial teams on cost control, forecasting and reporting.
• Maintain client relationships and provide regular project updates.
• Support design coordination, buildability reviews and value engineering.
• Ensure works are properly planned, resourced and delivered to specification.
• Produce clear internal and external reports on project progress.

Required profile

• Proven main‑contracting background with experience as the lead on site.
• Experience delivering MOD, defence, MOJ or secure‑environment schemes.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multi‑million‑pound projects (£10‑40 m).
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Experience in public‑sector sectors such as education, healthcare or civic buildings.
