Project Manager – Public Sector (Gloucester)

About the role

Bovis is seeking a Project Manager to lead the delivery of a major new public‑sector project based in Gloucester. The role involves providing project leadership, ensuring compliance with health, safety and environmental policies, and coordinating across design, construction and client teams.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain detailed project strategies, plans and schedules from initiation to completion.
• Drive project delivery while managing costs, quality, and health & safety requirements.
• Coordinate and guide the design manager, consultant team and supply chain to mitigate design risk and maximise client value.
• Establish effective liaison between design, site, commercial, client and supply‑chain stakeholders.
• Implement and enforce company safety standards across staff, contractors and work practices.
• Identify, assess and mitigate project risks, and capture opportunities for commercial improvement.

Required profile

• Chartered membership or related chartership such as CIOB.
• Relevant professional construction qualifications.
• Ability to obtain any required security clearance.
• Proven experience in managing construction packages and delivering public‑sector projects.

Required skills

• Knowledge of current construction laws, regulations, standards and procedures.
• Strong understanding of construction industry practices.
• Ability to prepare short, medium and long‑term programmes and coordinate delivery strategies.
• Competence in managing package risks and driving value‑maximising opportunities.
