Project Manager – Rail Engineering Programs

About the role

We are seeking a Project Manager to lead major engineering and rolling‑stock programmes for a leading rail engineering operation in Milton Keynes. You will own delivery from planning and mobilisation through to execution and completion, working closely with Production, Commercial, Finance, Engineering and Operations teams.

Key responsibilities

• Take full ownership of engineering and rolling‑stock projects, managing milestones, risks, resources and timelines.
• Act as primary interface for customers and internal stakeholders, ensuring clear communication and trusted relationships.
• Manage forecasting, financial performance, revenue reporting and variation control to keep programmes commercially successful.
• Embed robust project controls, risk management and standardized reporting while driving continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Proven project management experience in rolling stock, rail, heavy engineering, manufacturing or similar engineering environments.
• Strong stakeholder management experience within operational or site‑based settings.
• Experience overseeing programme budgets, forecasting and commercial performance.
