Project Manager – Water & Utilities Projects

About the role

We are recruiting a Project Manager for a leading water and wastewater contractor operating across Hampshire. The successful candidate will lead the delivery of network and civil works, ensuring safety, quality and timely completion.

Key responsibilities

• Lead day‑to‑day delivery of water and wastewater network schemes.
• Plan, sequence and manage multiple live projects, meeting milestones and productivity targets.
• Control commercial aspects including budgets, variations, forecasting and subcontractor performance under NEC frameworks.
• Maintain high HSEQ standards, ensuring safety, environmental compliance and quality assurance.
• Engage with clients, local authorities, residents and internal teams to ensure clear communication.
• Identify and mitigate risks, escalating issues when required.
• Lead supervisors, operatives and subcontractors to achieve operational excellence.

Required profile

• Proven experience in water, wastewater, utilities or civil reinstatement projects.
• Relevant H&S qualifications such as SMSTS or NRSWA Supervisor.
• Commercial awareness of NEC contracts and cost control.
• Technical understanding of water mains, drainage and network operations.
• Strong communication skills with clients, residents and internal teams.
• Full UK driving licence with willingness to travel across Hampshire.
