Project Officer

About the role

Stonewater is seeking a Project Officer to support the delivery of its ambitious affordable‑housing development programme across the South of England. This home‑based role offers the chance to contribute to building quality homes for those who need them most while working within a fast‑growing housing association.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in driving forward the development programme and delivery of new affordable homes.
• Travel independently to development sites across the South (initially East Sussex) to monitor progress and gather information.
• Produce written reports and updates for internal and external stakeholders.
• Support effective project management, ensuring timelines, budgets and quality standards are met.
• Collaborate with colleagues and external partners to resolve issues and maintain project momentum.

Required profile

• Interest in or knowledge of affordable housing is preferred.
• Confident, independent and proactive approach to work.
• Customer‑focused mindset.
• Excellent administrative, problem‑solving and attention‑to‑detail abilities.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, capable of producing clear reports.
• Good numerical and organisational skills to prioritise a varied workload.

Required skills

What we offer

• £26,897 per annum.
• 12‑month fixed‑term contract, full‑time.
• Home‑based role with occasional travel to sites in the South.
• Mileage reimbursement at 55p per mile for casual car users.
