Project Officer – Manufacturing Projects

About the role

The Project Officer will join Akkodis’ manufacturing project teams in Bolton, supporting the delivery of missile and test equipment programmes throughout their life‑cycles. This full‑time, on‑site contract role offers a stepping‑stone into project management within a high‑tech production environment.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and regularly report project Key Performance Indicators.
• Act as the interface between manufacturing, programme delivery, quality and cost.
• Prepare and present information for internal reviews and meetings.
• Assist with risk and opportunity management and compile manufacturing estimates and cost‑at‑completion data.
• Support workload forecasting, programme scheduling and schedule maintenance.
• Travel between sites as required to support heads of manufacturing and project managers.

Required profile

• Enthusiastic, proactive and able to prioritise day‑to‑day tactical decisions.
• Clear, strong communicator with numeracy confidence.
• Basic understanding of project management principles at an assistant level.

Required skills

• Proficiency in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Experience with SAP Materials Management (preferred).
• Familiarity with Primavera P6 planning tool (preferred).
