Project Planner – Infrastructure Projects

About the role

United Utilities is seeking a Project Planner to join its PMO team in Warrington. You will help shape water and wastewater infrastructure across the North West by turning complex data into clear, deliverable schedules.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain project and programme schedules for capital infrastructure projects.
• Collaborate with project managers, contractors and delivery teams to create realistic plans.
• Monitor performance against milestones, identify improvement opportunities and communicate critical‑path impacts.
• Analyse programme data, assess risks and support solutions to minimise delays.
• Support forecasting, reporting and performance measurement, including Earned Value Management where appropriate.
• Coordinate activities across multiple work packages and delivery partners.

Required profile

• Experience in project planning, programme controls or project scheduling within infrastructure, construction or engineering environments.
• Proven ability to develop and manage complex project schedules.
• Strong analytical mindset and attention to detail.
• Effective communication skills for presenting schedule performance to diverse stakeholders.

Required skills

• Primavera P6 or comparable planning software.
• Earned Value Management techniques.
