Project Planner

About the role

Babcock is hiring a Project Planner for its Devonport Royal Dockyard site in Plymouth, working within a high-performing Project Management Office (PMO) that supports the Capital Investment Portfolio. You will help deliver complex, high-profile programmes safely, efficiently and on schedule, working with project managers, engineers, construction teams, commercial professionals, subcontractors and supply chain partners. The role is full time, 35 hours per week, with hybrid working.

Key responsibilities

• Provide planning and scheduling support across a portfolio of infrastructure projects
• Support project and programme managers with scheduling and planning
• Prepare and deliver schedule-related reports, data and project performance information
• Maintain project schedules and align programme plans with project costs
• Assist with critical path analysis, schedule variance reporting and annual spend forecasting
• Work with engineering, construction, commercial and supply chain teams to support project delivery

Required profile

• Knowledge of project planning, scheduling or project controls principles
• Experience developing, maintaining and monitoring project schedules and programme plans
• Experience coordinating activities and tracking progress across project teams
• Understanding of how cost, risk, estimating and change management affect project schedules
• Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
• Ability to obtain and maintain Security Check (SC) clearance

Required skills

• Desirable: Primavera P6 scheduling software
• Desirable: APM PPC or PFQ qualifications, or an ONC in an engineering discipline
