Project Planner / Project Controller

About the role

We are seeking a Project Planner / Project Controller to join our growing Project Control function in Stevenage. You will work closely with Project Managers and multi‑functional teams to develop, maintain and analyse project plans, schedules and costs, ensuring accurate information supports key business decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Validate project assessments, identify issues, risks and corrective actions.
• Develop, maintain and review project schedules following planning principles.
• Lead creation and management of Integrated Baseline schedules.
• Validate project costs to go and support Estimate at Completion (EAC) reviews.
• Perform Schedule Risk Analysis and support risk and opportunity management.
• Analyse project performance data, including schedule, resource and cost information.
• Support bid teams by integrating project planning and control processes into new business activities.
• Maintain accurate project control reporting and ensure data quality across documentation.

Required profile

• Experience in project planning, project controls or project management environments.
• Familiarity with Work Breakdown Structures (WBS), Cost Breakdown Structures (CBS) and Organisation Breakdown Structures (OBS).
• Ability to create and maintain detailed to summary‑level project plans.
• Proven capability to perform Schedule Risk Analysis, Critical Path Analysis and Earned Value Management.
• Strong analytical skills to identify root causes and recommend corrective actions.
• Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills across multi‑functional teams.
