Project Quality Engineer – Renewable Energy

About the role

Emtec Energy is seeking a Project Quality Engineer to support the delivery of solar and battery storage projects across the UK. The role is site‑focused, requiring hands‑on inspections, audits and quality checks to ensure all work meets project specifications, industry standards and company procedures.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out site inspections, audits and QA/QC checks on live renewable energy projects.
• Inspect incoming materials such as PV modules, inverters, cables and mounting systems.
• Verify civil, mechanical and electrical installations, including module mounting, cable management, earthing and DC string wiring.
• Support commissioning activities and final handovers.
• Maintain quality documentation, inspection records and traceability.
• Produce defect reports and assist with corrective actions.
• Monitor subcontractor workmanship and compliance with health & safety requirements.
• Build strong relationships with clients, project teams and subcontractors.

Required profile

• Experience in QA/QC, site compliance or project support within construction or engineering.
• Proven ability to conduct site inspections and quality audits.
• Strong understanding of construction quality standards and health & safety processes.
• Excellent attention to detail, problem‑solving and communication skills.
• Full UK driving licence, CSCS card and willingness to travel UK‑wide.
