Project Quantity Surveyor – Cornwall Construction

About the role

Join a well‑established construction firm delivering high‑quality, design‑focused developments across Cornwall. As a Project Quantity Surveyor you will own the commercial side of multiple schemes, from procurement through to final account, working on projects typically valued at £5 million and above.

Key responsibilities

• Manage commercial performance from pre‑construction to completion.
• Build and maintain relationships with clients, consultants, subcontractors and internal teams.
• Lead procurement activities, tender evaluations and subcontract negotiations.
• Prepare and administer subcontract documentation and contractual agreements.
• Handle interim valuations, payment applications and certification processes.
• Oversee change management, including variations and extensions of time.
• Monitor subcontractor accounts and negotiate final accounts.
• Produce monthly cost reports, forecasts and financial updates for senior management.
• Track project expenditure, cash flow and commercial performance.
• Identify commercial risks and implement mitigation strategies.
• Support estimating, budgeting and cost planning as required.
• Ensure contractual compliance throughout each project stage.

Required profile

• Proven experience in a Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management role.
• Ability to manage projects independently while collaborating within a wider team.
• Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills.
• Strong commercial awareness and attention to detail.
• Effective prioritisation and ability to meet deadlines.
• Full UK driving licence.
