Project Quantity Surveyor

About the role

Our client, a long‑established UK construction firm specialising in high‑performance fit‑out and refurbishment projects, is seeking a Project Quantity Surveyor to join their growing team in Halifax. You will be responsible for end‑to‑end commercial management across a variety of sectors including healthcare, industrial, retail and education.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare comprehensive and accurate cost plans, providing expert commercial advice to minimise scope changes and budget overruns.
• Deliver end‑to‑end commercial management across projects, ensuring effective cost control from pre‑construction through to final account.
• Produce detailed Bills of Quantities (BoQs), measurements and take‑offs from technical drawings and specifications.
• Lead tender submissions, including pricing, bid analysis, value engineering and development of competitive strategies.
• Manage change control processes, ensuring variations are accurately valued, negotiated, approved and recorded.
• Administer contract documentation and monitor contractual obligations for compliance.
• Provide strategic commercial and cost advice to support informed project and business decision‑making.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, suppliers and internal project teams.

Required profile

• Proven experience in quantity surveying within construction projects.
• Strong understanding of cost planning, tendering and contract administration.
• Ability to manage change control and negotiate variations effectively.

• Salary up to £60,000 per annum, dependent on experience.
