Projects and Events Executive

About the role

We are seeking a Projects and Events Executive to join the Institution of Mechanical Engineers in London. In this full‑time permanent role you will own the end‑to‑end delivery of a varied portfolio of events, competitions, webinars and hybrid activities, ensuring each experience meets the highest standards for participants and sponsors.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate and execute events from concept through to on‑site delivery.
• Manage budgets, negotiate with suppliers and secure venues.
• Maintain relationships with sponsors, vendors and internal committees.
• Prepare and distribute event materials, agendas, minutes and participant communications.
• Oversee on‑site logistics, monitor performance metrics and capture post‑event feedback.
• Process invoices, cost reports and maintain accurate event data.

Required profile

• Minimum two years of hands‑on event operations experience.
• Proven ability to obtain competitive rates from suppliers.
• Creative, solutions‑driven mindset with strong problem‑solving skills.
• Excellent time‑management, prioritisation and attention to detail.
• Customer‑focused attitude and willingness to travel, including overnight stays.
