Property Maintenance & Carpentry Assessor

About the role

This fixed‑term position offers the chance to join a forward‑thinking college as a Skills Coach and Assessor for apprentices specialising in Property Maintenance and Carpentry. You will use your industry expertise to guide learners from enrolment through to successful completion of their apprenticeship and End Point Assessment.

Key responsibilities

• Coach, mentor and assess apprentices in Property Maintenance and Carpentry.
• Deliver learning aligned to apprenticeship standards, including inductions, initial assessments and individual learning plans.
• Monitor progress, provide constructive feedback and record outcomes using online systems.
• Conduct workplace, remote and college‑based assessments and support on‑ and off‑the‑job training requirements.
• Collaborate with employers and internal teams to ensure learners stay on track for Gateway and EPA.
• Participate in standardisation, quality assurance and CPD activities.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in Property Maintenance or Carpentry.
• Level 3 qualification (or equivalent) in a related trade.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Willingness to obtain or work towards an assessor qualification (TAQA, A1, D32/D33).
• Passion for developing others and strong communication skills.
