Property Officer – Part-time (20 hrs/week)

About the role

The Property Officer will manage property and exhibits at Edinburgh Police Station, ensuring safe, secure and accurate handling of items linked to investigations. This part‑time role supports operational policing, court processes and provides a professional front‑counter service to the public and officers.

Key responsibilities

• Receive, record, store and track property and exhibits, maintaining continuity of evidence.
• Manage return, retention and disposal of property, liaising with officers, courts and external agencies.
• Prepare and release exhibits for court as required.
• Provide guidance to officers and deliver a professional front‑counter service, handling enquiries and administrative support.

Required profile

• Experience dealing with the public and delivering a customer‑focused service.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage sensitive information.
• Good IT proficiency and ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
