About the role
We are seeking a Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner (BABCP accredited) to join the Talking Therapies team at HMP The Mount in Hertfordshire. Working full‑time (35 hours per week), you will support individuals with low to moderate mental health difficulties, such as anxiety and depression, within a secure, recovery‑focused environment.
Key responsibilities
- Assess eligibility for low‑intensity psychological interventions.
- Deliver Step 2 Talking Therapies for anxiety and depression, both one‑to‑one and in group formats.
- Maintain a structured caseload, prioritising care plans and follow‑up.
- Collaborate with prison staff and external partner agencies in a multidisciplinary setting.
- Participate in clinical supervision, case management and risk‑assessment processes.
- Record accurate clinical notes and risk assessments in line with service standards.
Required profile
- Qualified or trainee PWP with a recognised PWP qualification (or working towards it).
- Strong knowledge of low‑intensity CBT‑based interventions and IAPT frameworks.
- Proven ability to manage a caseload within structured clinical pathways.
- Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills.
- Commitment to collaborative, multidisciplinary work and to equality, diversity and inclusive practice.
- Confidence in risk assessment and safe practice within a secure setting.
